Update: All lanes on Highway 99 reopened after overturned big rig spills tomatoes
An overturned big rig and a fruity mess blocked four lanes of traffic Tuesday on southbound Highway 99 near Oak Park, slowing afternoon traffic to a crawl.
All but one lane of southbound traffic was blocked after a tomato truck overturned near the 14th Avenue exit, according to the California Highway Patrol incident log.
The semi truck jackknifed and crashed onto its side, spilling loads of tomatoes all over the place.
All lanes reopened around 4 p.m. No injuries were reported.
