Overturned big rig closes West Sacramento roadway, police say

A fully overturned big rig has closed a West Sacramento thoroughfare Friday morning, police say.

The truck and trailer, both seen in a photo flipped on their roofs, have closed the southbound side of Southport Parkway near Lake Washington, the West Sacramento Police Department said in a tweet around 9:15 a.m.

The lanes were estimated to be closed for about two hours as of that time, police said. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

No other details were available.
