Update: One lane of Highway 99 reopens in south Sacramento County after big-rig crash

Traffic is stalled on northbound Highway 99 in south Sacramento County following a two-vehicle crash, authorities say.

Both northbound lanes were closed just south of Grant Line Road for about an hour, with traffic being diverted off at Arno Road until the left lane reopened around 7:10 a.m., the California Highway Patrol’s South Sacramento office and Caltrans said in tweets Friday morning.

Drivers remain urged to use Interstate 5 as an alternate route.

Caltrans in a tweet said the crash involved a big rig and one other vehicle, and has required a hazmat response. There is no estimated time of reopening for the right lane.

No other details were immediately available.
