Weather forecast: Warmer, drier weather on the way for Sacramento area this week
This week, the sky was mostly clear and the temperature was pretty nice in Sacramento — not that anyone could tell from the isolation of their home.
But if it’s any consolation, the weather should remain clear for the immediate future as temperatures rise somewhat moving into next week.
This weekend was relatively unremarkable, seeing precipitation only over the Sierra Nevada in the form of scattered showers, according to the National Weather Service, but incoming high pressure systems building in Northern California are expected to bring warmer temperatures.
“Warm and mostly dry weather will dominate the forecast over the next week in interior Northern California,” the NWS said in a forecast.
Monday may bring some moderate winds to the area, with the fastest gusts predicted around 25 to 30 miles per hour near Redding and Chico.
Sacramento could see wind speeds around 10 to 15 mph.
By Tuesday, the daily high temperature should be nearly 80 degrees and Wednesday’s high should be in the low 80s.
Northern California should remain dry through Wednesday, but there might be a shift around the middle of the week, bringing light precipitation Thursday afternoon to the mountains and foothills.
“Above normal temperatures are expected on Thursday, then trend to near and potentially below normal late in the week,” the NWS said in another forecast. “Another low could bring additional unsettled, cooler weather through (next) weekend.”
