When, where to expect the storm: Video shows which areas could see the most rainfall
A National Weather Service satellite graphic shows the timing of a series of storms hitting the Sacramento area and all of Northern California in the next several days.
The powerful “bomb cyclone” system is expected to drop heavy precipitation over the weekend and early next week. The video timing the storm shows the rain scattered — until Friday when a green blob representing precipitation overtakes most of Northern California. The system is developing off the coast of the Pacific Northwest and is also expected to batter the coasts of Oregon and Washington.
The biggest storm will arrive late Saturday night and roll into Tuesday. Moderate to heavy rain and high mountain snow are expected.
