New snow in 24 hours, and more coming down as skiers enjoy Tahoe
A whopping 26 inches of new snow accumulated in the last 24 hours on Palisades Tahoe upper mountain and the storm is only getting started. Multiple feet of fresh snow is expected to accumulate through the week. Despite a slow start to the season, Palisades Tahoe received over 7 feet more snow than they had at this point in the 18-19 season, which was the last major snow season.
The storm is expected to bring very high winds and multiple feet of snowfall. Skiers should expect wind holds on many upper mountain lifts, and possibly delayed lift openings due to post-storm maintenance work. Palisades teams are working hard to clear lifts of rime ice, rebuild access roads, and perform avalanche control. Guests can obtain current lift and terrain status through our website and the Palisades Tahoe App. Anyone traveling in the Tahoe area can stay up-to-date on road conditions and chain control requirements with the CalTrans QuickMap app.
