How much rain and snow dropped around the greater Sacramento region over the weekend?
Rain swept through the Sacramento area on Friday and Saturday, while snow dusted ski resorts around Lake Tahoe.
Sacramento International Airport recorded 0.56 inches of rain from 8 a.m. Friday through 8 a.m. Sunday, while Nevada County Airport had 0.67 inches, according to the National Weather Service’s Sacramento bureau.
Blue Canyon, an unincorporated community in Placer County near Emigrant Gap, pulled in 1.58 inches of rain, the most in the region.
Palisades Tahoe ski resort recorded a full foot of snow from Saturday through Sunday morning, while Sugar Bowl had 7 inches and Heavenly 5. Going back through Friday morning, Kirkwood had 10 inches and Northstar 8.
More precipitation is expected as early as Monday night, with snow at about 5,000 to 6,000 feet in elevation in the Sierra Nevada.
Sacramento’s forecast calls for 0.1-0.25 inches of rain, while Donner Pass could get 6 to 8 inches of snow.
