Red flag warning in effect as temperatures will be on the rise this week in Sacramento

Red flag warnings

Sacramento is heating up — again — this Memorial Day.

The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning in Sacramento at 11 a.m. Monday as forecasts are expected to be high, at 82 degrees during the day. The warning extends to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with temperatures forecasted at 90 degrees in the day.

That’s just the start of the area’s warm weather as we slide into the summer season of blue skies and steamy daytime temperatures. Wednesday’s predicted high is 95 degrees and Thursday is expected to be 91 before temperatures hit the mid-80s next weekend.

Monday’s red flag warnings came as northerly winds and low humidity brings dryer conditions into the valley, increasing risk for fire.
