Rain and snow could return to Sacramento and the Sierra. Here’s what we know so far
Rain is predicted in Sacramento next week, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service tweeted on Wednesday shift in weather “could bring widespread precipitation and mountain travel impacts” to the valley and the Sierra. It will know more in the coming days.
“This far out it’s tough to say,” said Cory Mueller, a weather service meteorologist. “We are keeping an eye on a possible pattern change for the middle to the end of next week that could bring some rain and snow.”
“It could potentially be a colder system,” Mueller said. “Quite a bit of mountain snow will be possible.”
The storm is traveling from the North and Gulf of Alaska down into California, Mueller said.
Until then, the forecast looks partly sunny and dry for the next few days, according to the weather service. Temperature highs will reach 63 degrees on Sunday and dip to 32 degrees on Wednesday night.
