Watch: Going to dinner in Truckee CA means cutting through snow banks over your head

A group of people traveled through walls of snow in Truckee, California, to get food at their favorite sushi restaurant, a video published March 7, 2023 by SWNS - Raw shows.

Kris Sailor filmed the group embarking on the journey at the beginning of March from their house to the Japanese restaurant despite huge snow banks from the recent winter storms that blanketed the Lake Tahoe area.

The snow towers over them, even falling as they walk past. The hungry, intrepid group cheer and then become concerned as they walk through the blizzard conditions.

“Called my fave sushi spot in Truckee and they were open so I had to send it!” Sailor wrote in the video caption.

Palisades Tahoe ski resort, near Truckee, has seen a whopping 575 inches of snowfall this season. Sugar Bowl Resort has received roughly 443 to 595 inches of snow since the start of the year, and Kirkwood Mountain Resort 560 inches. About 478 inches have fallen on Heavenly.

Some residents have reported being ‘trapped’ in their homes and experiencing food shortages.
