Sacramento weather update: How much did it rain in the last 24 hours and what’s next?
Don’t be fooled by Friday morning’s dry conditions — more rain is expected in Sacramento this weekend.
“The worst of the storm has pushed to our south” said Cory Mueller, National Weather Service Meteorologist.” “But we’re not done yet for the weekend.”
Here are the latest rain totals, and what’s what’s ahead for Sacramento:
24 hour rain totals
Below are 24-hour rain totals as of Friday morning throughout Sacramento Area, according to the weather service:
- Downtown Sacramento: 1.09 inches
- Roseville: 1.34 inches
- Auburn: 1.25 inches
- Folsom: 1.26 inches
- Placerville: 2.07 inches
- Davis: 1.40 inches
Sacramento weekend forecast
Despite dry conditions on Friday more rain is predicted for the weekend.
“Tomorrow and Sunday we’ll see periods of showers and isolated thunderstorms throughout the day, both days,” Mueller said.”
Showers are expected to start before 4 a.m. on Saturday and continue through the weekend. Temperatures will teeter between 40 to 60 degrees through the weekend, according to the five day forecast.
A flood watch is in place from Friday to Saturday night.
As for winds, we are pretty much done with for the weekend, Mueller said. Though Sacramento can expect more winds early next week.
