Could Northern California see triple-digit temperatures this weekend? Here’s what’s possible

Northern California is in for a hot weekend, and while it most likely won’t reach triple-digit heat, you might want to hit the pool or blast your air conditioner.

Some places in the region are kicking off the weekend on Friday with temperatures in the 90s, according to the National Weather Service. Redding will see highs near 99 degrees, Chico at 98 and Ukiah at 95. In Sacramento, highs are around 93, while Stockton and Modesto trail at about 91 degrees.

Most parts of northern California have a 0% chance that it will hit triple-digit temperatures Friday. Except for Sacramento, which has a 5% chance, Marysville at 31% and Redding at 34%.

Weekend forecast

If you’re spending the weekend in Sacramento, expect sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s.

Saturday is forecast near 88 with wind gusts up to 18 mph and a low near 60. Sunday has a high around 84 with gusts up to 18 mph and a low near 53.

Redding and Chico’s weekend starts with a high of 93 degrees on Saturday and 86 on Sunday.

It’s a long weekend for those celebrating Juneteenth. If you plan to head out to San Francisco, it’ll be breezy. Weekend temperatures are in the 60s with lows in the 50s. Tahoe will see warmer temperatures with highs ranging from 72 and 66 for Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Lows are around 50 and 44.
