The advisory was issued for San Diego County Coastal Areas, San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys-The Inland Empire, San Diego County Inland Valleys, San Bernardino County Mountains, Riverside County Mountains, Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, San Diego County Mountains, Orange County Coastal and Orange County Inland.
"A cooling trend will take place over the weekend. The Heat Advisory for the coastal areas, valleys, and mountains will be allowed to expire at 8 p.m. this evening," states the NWS San Diego CA.

- Stay hydrated: Remember to drink plenty of fluids.

- Stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
- Child and pet safety: Never leave young children and pets unattended in vehicles, especially when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures within minutes.
- Take extra precautions outdoors: If you work or spend time outside, be sure to take additional safety measures.
- Optimal Timing: When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
- Familiarize yourself with warning signs: Know the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
- Dress comfortably: Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.
For a safer outdoor work environment, follow the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)'s guidance by scheduling regular rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned places. If anyone shows signs of heat illness, promptly move them to a cool, shaded area. In an emergency, call 911.
