Mono County under a lake wind advisory Sunday - wind gusts reaching 40 mph

On Friday at 10:12 a.m. a lake wind advisory was released by the NWS Reno NV valid for Sunday between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. for Mono County.

The NWS informs, "North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph for Topaz Lake, Bridgeport Reservoir, Mono Lake, and Crowley Lake."

"Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve," comments the NWS. "Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind."

This advisory is in effect until Sunday at 11 p.m.
