Lake wind advisory affecting Lake Tahoe Sunday and Monday - gusts to hit 45 mph

On Friday at 10:12 a.m. the NWS Reno NV released a lake wind advisory valid from Sunday 5 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m. for Lake Tahoe.

The NWS informs, "Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and waves up to 3 feet for Lake Tahoe, Donner Lake, and Prosser and Boca reservoirs."

"Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve," describes the NWS. "Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind."

This advisory is in effect until Monday at 5 a.m.
