Light rain fell and steady wind blew leaves around Thursday morning in Sacramento.

Up to a quarter of an inch of precipitation is predicted by the National Weather Service for the Sacramento region on Thursday. Southwest winds are expected to range from 11 to 18 mph.

Up to two feet of snow is expected in the Sierra Nevada on Thursday from a rather warm storm that has picked up moisture from the ocean near the Hawaiian islands.
