Letters: U.S. should be leading the fight against climate change

Re “California’s new normal? Ever more-intense heat, fires, droughts and floods” (sacbee.com, Oct. 13): It shouldn't take deadly wildfires, insane hurricanes and, sadly, people's lives to realize that climate change is the new norm. We’ve all felt hotter temperatures, heavier rain, and have seen what the rest of the world is going through. The United States should be the first country to be mitigating climate change. Please, call your representatives, post on social media, and pressure our government to take action now.
