Letters: Kevin de León misunderstands ways of Washington

Re “‘The D.C. playbook is obsolete,’ Kevin de León says as he takes on Feinstein” (sacbee.com, Oct. 18): Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León says he refuses to accept Washington gridlock, but denounces those who are willing to work with Trump. This is speaking out of both sides of his mouth. It doesn’t matter how detestable he finds Trump. Congress and the administration must cooperate to make things happen. Many Republicans were just as bad in opposing anything that had Barack Obama’s name on it. To make progress for the American people, both sides are going to have to make an effort to bridge the gap, despite how much they dislike the other side.
