Letters: Sacramento Bee should butt out of teachers’ labor dispute
Re “Everyone agrees Sacramento teachers should get a pay raise. So who, exactly, would a strike serve?” (Editorials, Nov. 6) I do not understand how The Sacramento Bee’s editorial board can justify jumping into the middle of this unfortunate standoff at the 11th hour. It seems harmful that the largest newspaper in our marketplace would take such a strong stance against the teachers who serve in Sacramento. Perhaps the most unfortunate thing about the editorial is its seeming disregard for the teachers’ investment on behalf of the district’s 43,000 students. Print media monopoly of the market area should not be license for further encumbering critical dialog between the administration and staff for the Sacramento City Unified School District.
