Re “Mayor Steinberg has a plan to build tiny houses, and lots of them” (Editorials, Jan. 23): Mayor Darrell Steinberg’s plan to build tiny houses is missing an important contributor. What are homeless people doing to contribute to the plan? If homeless people have the ability to survive on the streets for years, or stand all day on a street median begging for money, or attend city council meetings meetings week after week pressing the city for action, they have the ability to contribute to the solution by volunteering and working in some way to support the mayor’s plan. What aren’t homeless people contributing to the plan somehow? Homeless does not mean helpless.
