March 2020 primary: See The Sacramento Bee Editorial Board’s election endorsements
The Sacramento Bee Editorial Board has met with candidates and proponents and opponents of ballot measure campaigns in an effort to offer perspectives on candidates and propositions best represent voters’ interests.
Below is a list of our recommendations for the March 3, 2020 primary election. It will be updated as endorsements are published.
Endorsements, like editorials, represent the collective opinion of the board. Board recommendations are not always unanimous and do not reflect the individual opinions of board members.
Nor do they reflect the views of Bee reporters in the news section. The Bee’s opinion section operates independently from news. Reporters do not participate in editorial board deliberations or weigh in on board decisions. They may observe candidate interviews.
The board includes California Opinion Editor Gil Duran, Sacramento Bee/West Region Editor Lauren Gustus, Sacramento Bee Assistant Opinion Editor Tess Townsend, Bee Opinion Columnist Marcos Breton, Deputy California Opinion Editor and Editorial Cartoonist Jack Ohman, and Bee President and Publisher Gary Wortel.
