Here are The Sacramento Bee Editorial Board’s endorsements for March 2024 elections | Opinion
Election Day is Tuesday, March 5, but many voters are already casting vote-by-mail ballots or taking advantage of early voting. Every election season, The Sacramento Bee’s Editorial Board meets with dozens of candidates to determine who our board will endorse in local, state and federal races. We do this to present voters with as much information as possible about whom they might choose to represent them — information that comes straight from the candidates themselves.
This year, the Editorial Board is most concerned about this nation’s fragile democracy, the need for homeless policies that increase capacity for affordable housing and badly needed drug and mental health treatment, the growing climate crisis, the dire need for more affordable housing in our state and economic investments to keep our community thriving and able to provide services to our neighbors. Those imperatives informed our decisions in races from federal lawmakers down to extremely local match-ups.
Use the links for each race to learn who we endorsed and to read the reasoning behind the board’s choices.
