Re “Others’ trash turns into tiny houses for Oakland’s homeless” (Page A3, March 29): I love it. While it seems like much of the world is arguing, polarized, inflicting misery on one another and buying mountains of useless stuff, an artist quietly collects the discards at the curb and solves a real problem.

In the end, I believe it is the peaceful, creative people that make all the difference. The gentle humanity is breathtaking.

Thank you, Gregory Kloehn.
