Food truck restrictions
Food trucks are the new Amazon
Re “City eases food truck rules after years of debate” (Local News, May 27): Food trucks are just the latest thing in a long line of businesses to draw the population away from brick-and-mortar stores.
In this social revolution, we are drawn toward things that are mobile and are new. Food trucks are to restaurants what Amazon is to Borders, what iTunes and Spotify are to record stores and what Wikipedia is to actual encyclopedias. As long as food trucks seem edgy, proved by how much the brick-and-mortar restaurants resist them, people will seek them out, desiring to be part of the hip, new scene.
