NRA doesn’t deserve Ohman’s sharpened pen
Re Editorial cartoons related to the NRA (Jack Ohman, Oct. 6, 7 and 8): The shooting at Umpqua Community College is not the NRA’s fault. This kind of lampooning is not fair and is an insult to all law-abiding citizens, gun owners or not.
There are existing laws on the books to prevent people who should not be in possession of weapons, but they’re not enforced.
Palliatives such as limiting magazine capacities are politically correct but provide no real-world solutions. The NRA has many educational programs for safe use of firearms. Ohman should do some research.
