Sacrificing trees for billboards
A sad sign of the times
Re “Rancho’s signs of the times” (Our Region, Nov. 30): These billboards are visual pollution and a big driver distraction as it is, but the thought of them removing 10 mature redwood trees to put in one of these eyesores is appalling.
What makes me angrier is the fact that Councilwoman Linda Budge says that it’s OK environmentally because it’s not a scenic highway. I guess if the money is good enough, politicians will set aside any environmental concerns.
