Re “Cosby countersues accuser” (Names & Faces, Dec. 5): Years ago when I was a young man, I had occasion to drive to Yuba City on business. I picked up a sandwich and a soda for lunch. I decided to eat my lunch at a small lake in the center of Marysville. As I sat eating my lunch I noticed a group of ducks on the shore. One duck had obviously been injured with his head all bloodied. The other ducks attacked him mercilessly pecking at his wound. I tried shooing them away to no avail.

That experience came to mind when Bill Cosby became the latest cause célèbre. It seems everyone is taking a peck at Cosby’s head – sponsors, corporations, even his alma mater, Temple University. There certainly are questions to be addressed about Cosby and his accusers. However, one fact appears glaring – the man has not been convicted of anything. Guess that doesn’t matter as long as you are not the one accused.

John Petkovich, Roseville
