Debt-saddled students can’t afford arena fee

Re “What’s next for CSUS?” (Letters, Dec. 6): After six long years, my younger brother is graduating from Sacramento State. When he first heard about the proposed fee hike, he laughed. I remember what he said next: “They want to charge us more money? Oh, my god.”

His response is not surprising. Students drown in debt. They don’t need expensive event centers. Students just want to go to school and go home. If it must be built, do so without reaching into the pockets of poor students.
