El Capitan climbers

Climbers accomplish nothing

Re “Sheer climb is over the top” (Page A1, Jan. 15): These climbers were graffiti on the wall of one our most beautiful natural wonders: El Capitan in Yosemite. What have they accomplished? They fall a multitude of times but are saved by ropes. Their feats are no better than tightrope walkers. Why are we polluting our natural wonders with petty stunts by humans looking for attention? What a sad circus.
