Stop raids on Sacramento’s homeless campers
Re “Homeless advocates fight capital’s camping ban” (Page A1, Jan. 21): We need to put an end to the numerous homeless encampments around our city. The only way to do that effectively is to put more effort and money into finding opportunities for the homeless in our community and help for the disenfranchised.
If the local government isn’t willing or able to put the money into that worthy cause, then it shouldn’t be putting the money into police raids of innocent people, either. Either help them out or leave them alone. Harassing them when they are harming no one helps no one.
