Ban bobcat trapping

The Fish and Game Commission next month will consider strengthening statewide regulations on bobcat trapping.
The Fish and Game Commission next month will consider strengthening statewide regulations on bobcat trapping. Sacramento Bee file

The Fish and Game Commission will vote soon on whether to ban bobcat trapping in California. It’s time to implement the 2013 Bobcat Protection Act and protect these beautiful, native animals. California’s bobcats are being exploited by commercial trappers. It’s inhumane, does not align with a management plan based on sound science and is a disservice to the many who come to see California’s amazing diversity of wildlife, not their pelts. A trapping ban on bobcats in California is the right thing to do.
