Chip Kelly’s 49ers are on track to be one of the worst teams, not just in franchise history but NFL history. Still, the coach isn’t planning any dramatic moves when the team returns from its bye week to prepare for struggling New Orleans.

Kings: Lawson grabs team’s final roster spot

Entering training camp, the Kings had 14 players with guaranteed contracts, and Ty Lawson always was the favorite for the last spot. Even after Lawson was late to a shootaround Oct. 13 in Las Vegas and missed the team’s flight to Kentucky the next day, the organization remained behind him. Lawson will start at point guard in the team’s season opener Wednesday in Phoenix while Darren Collison serves an eight-game suspension.
