California Dream’s first WTT home match will be July 13 vs. Springfield

California Dream, Sacramento’s new World TeamTennis franchise, will open the season July 12 at the San Diego Aviators.

The Dream’s home opener will be the following night against the Springfield Lasers. All home matches begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be played at Dream Stadium at Sunrise Mall.

The Dream, coached by David Macpherson, will feature Bob and Mike Bryan, the world’s top-ranked doubles team that won the gold medal at the 2012 Olympics. The Bryans will play three matches for the Dream, but only one at home, on July 23 against San Diego. The twins’ other two matches are July 25 at Boston and July 26 at Philadelphia.

The 2015 WTT season will feature Serena Williams for the first time since 2011. Williams will play two matches for the defending champion Washington Kastles, July 20 at Philadelphia and July 21 against Boston. Venus Williams and Martini Hingis also will play matches for the Kastles. Venus Williams will play July 14 against Austin, and Hingis will play July 23 at Boston and July 26 vs. Springfield.

The three-week, 52-match WTT season will culminate with conference championships July 30 and the championship Aug. 2 on the home court of the Eastern Conference champions.
