Casspi stars as Kings earn 28th win
Omri Casspi scored 26 points and had six assists as the Kings closed out their home season with a 102-92 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at Sleep Train Arena. The Kings used a 27-18 fourth quarter to pull away from the Lakers. Jason Thompson added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Kings, who matched their win total from last season with 28.

A’s tee off on Houston
Brett Lawrie, Marcus Semien and Billy Butler homered as part of a 12-hit A’s attack in their 8-1 win over the Astros on Monday night. Ben Zobrist had three hits to back Scott Kazmir, who improved to 2-0 with his strong start. Kazmir allowed three hits and struck out eight in six innings.
Giants stumble in home opener
The Giants lost their home opener for the first time since 2008. Despite another impressive pitching performance from Chris Heston, San Francisco fell 2-0 to Colorado. The Giants, who have lost four games in a row, were 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position and left 12 runners on base.

Las Vegas tops River Cats in slugfest
The River Cats and the 51s combined for 26 hits, but Las Vegas made the most of theirs in an 8-5 victory at Raley Field. Travis Ishikawa played first base for the River Cats and had one hit in four at-bats as he continues his minor-league rehab. Adam Duvall had three hits for Sacramento.
