Sports Night: Giants’ offensive funk continues
Giants: Timely hitting? It’s time, all right
Buster Posey’s drive to deep center field in the eighth inning shows promise on Tuesday before the bats ran out of steam. Bottom line: The Giants continue to strand runners at a damaging rate and fall 4-1 to the Colorado Rockies. It’s the World Series champions’ fifth loss in a row.
A’s: Graveman gets support after all
Oakland rookie Kendall Graveman picks up his first big-league victory at Houston.
River Cats: They’re money vs. Vegas
Juan Perez doubles in the decisive run in the fourth inning as the River Cats edge the Las Vegas 51s 3-2 at Raley Field.

Ailene Voisin: Introspection would serve Cousins well
Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has a ton of talent, but after five losing seasons it’s time to take stock. He can force a trade by the Kings (who finish the season Wednesday at 7:30 against the Los Angeles Lakers). Or, he can give the team time to clean up the mess – and then buy in. Either way, the choice should be his alone.
Kings: Keep those passports current
The Kings will play the Boston Celtics on Dec. 3 next season in Mexico City. They played the Brooklyn Nets in two preseason games in China this season.
Hometown Report: Bobby Jackson the analyst
As a player, Bobby Jackson was a favorite of Kings fans. Now, on the team’s broadcasts, he does what a TV analyst should – he analyzes. Even himself in an effort to improve his performance.

Republic FC: They can fend for themselves
At first glance, it appears USL teams such as Republic FC that are unaffiliated with Major League Soccer would be at a talent disadvantage. The standings indicate otherwise. Republic FC hosts Vancouver on Wednesday (7:30) at Bonney Field.
