Sacramento State starter Brennan Leitao pitched a complete game, surrendering one run and five hits, but the host Hornets were shut out by CSU Bakersfield’s Hayden Carter, Sac State reported.
Leitao, a senior, struck out seven, becoming the fourth pitcher in program history to surpass 200 career strikeouts. Sac State falls to 19-17 and 7-6 Western Athletic Conferece while CSU Bakersfield is now 21-14-1 and 9-3-1 WAC.
▪ Spencer Koopmans pitched a complete game, giving up only an unearned run, to lead UC Davis to a 8-3 win over host UC Irvine, the Aggies reported.

Idaho State moved into sole possession of first place, sweeping a doubleheader against the Hornets 7-0 (9 innings) and 8-5, Sacramento State reported.
Idaho State (27-14, 12-2) came into the day tied with the Hornets (21-22, 10-4), who fall into a virtual tie for second place with Weber State (9-3). The Bengals and Hornets play again at noon today.
Cal women beat Hornets
Visiting Hornets lost to Cal 7-0 to end the tennis season with a 16-10 overall record, Sacramento State reported.

The Aggies jumped out to a 4-1 start, but visiting USC came back to win 15-5 win in women’s lacrosse at Aggie Stadium, UCD reported.
