Sports Night: Giants’ losing streak at 8

Giants: S.F.’s Peavy knocked out in fourth

The Giants lost their eighth game in a row, falling 9-0 to Arizona on Friday, and are winless in five home games this season. Giants starter Jake Peavy left with two outs in the fourth inning. He allowed eight hits and four earned runs. Arizona’s A.J. Pollock had more hits (four) than the Giants (three).

A's: Kansas City battles past Oakland

Oakland and Kansas City met for the first time since their wild-card game last season, and the key word here is “wild.” When Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar was taken out by Brett Lawrie’s slide, both dugouts emptied. A’s starter Sonny Gray was roughed up, allowing 11 hits in six innings. Oakland lost 6-4.
