First-inning grand slam not enough for A’s

Oakland continued its 10-game trip with a 8-7 loss to Minnesota. Steven Vogt hit a grand slam in the first inning, but the Twins scored four runs in both the second and sixth innings.

River Cats roll in Reno

The River Cats were denied a berth in the Pacific Coast League playoffs last year with a road loss to the Aces in the final game of the regular season. Monday night at Aces Ballpark, the Cats got a little revenge, scoring six runs in the fourth inning of an 8-4 victory.
