Sacramento Republic FC announces full schedule. Here’s what to know about the reboot
Sacramento Republic FC announced Thursday its remaining regular-season schedule.
On March 7, the team opened the season with a 1-1 draw against FC Tulsa before the season was paused due to COVID-19. The team will open the resumed season on July 13 at home against Tacoma Defiance. The game will be broadcast on KQCA My58 and ESPN Deportes.
The United Soccer League announced June 25 the competitive structure for the league, which is comprised of a 16-game regular season. All the USL clubs were divided into eight four-team groups in order to limit travel.
The USL playoff format will be World Cup-style, with the two top teams from each group advancing to a single-elimination playoff. The regular-season games will be played over 13 weeks, concluding on the weekend of Oct. 2-4.
Republic FC is in Group A — which includes Portland Timbers 2, Reno 1868 FC and Tacoma Defiance. The other teams Sac Republic will play in the 16-game regular season are LA Galaxy ll, Orange County SC and San Diego Loyal SC.
