UC Davis announces changes to basketball attendance: No fans will be allowed at some games

Attendance changes are coming for the UC Davis men’s basketball program.

In light of Tuesday’s announcement that UC Davis will start the winter quarter remotely, the Aggies will have no fans in attendance for games against UC Irvine on Jan. 6 and UC San Diego on Jan. 8.

Starting on Jan. 27, all fans over the age of 3 must present either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test, per the state of California’s mega-event guidelines.

This new policy only applies to the men’s basketball team as of now, according to the release. UC Davis is 6-3 on the season and has a road win over Oregon State, a Pac-12 opponent.

The UC Davis women’s basketball team is on the road during the week stretch and the men’s team will be playing without fans.

The women’s team is 6-4 and is coming off a win over Gonzaga. UC Davis won the Big West tournament and made the NCAA tournament last season.
