Sacramento Republic is hosting a free watch party for the U.S. Open Cup final at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center downtown Wednesday night. The doors open at 4 p.m. and the game starts at 5 p.m.

The soccer team will play Orlando City of MLS in the championship game of the oldest American soccer tournament, with roots dating back to 1913. Sacramento plays in the second-tier USL, which hasn’t had a team win the tournament since 1999.

Team sponsor Kellog’s will provide snack samples for fans. The club is expecting a huge crowd at the convention center. The first 4,000 fans will receive a Republic FC flag courtesy of City Councilwoman Angelique Ashby, who is running for a state Senate seat against Dave Jones.

The event will include commemorative merchandise. There will be food trucks and a diverse food and beverage selection for purchase.

All ages are welcome at the event. Fans can RSVP at SacRepublicFC.com/WatchParty. Visitors should use the 14th and J streets entrance to the Convention Center. The game will be streamed through ESPN+.
