It didn’t take long for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to send a Twitter message to a new Las Vegas Raiders defensive end.

That would be Tyree Wilson of Texas Tech who was taken with the seventh overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on Thursday in Kansas City.

“Take it easy on me big dawg!! @tyreewilson77 congrats tho!!,” Mahomes wrote.

Wilson will see Mahomes twice in the AFC West.

Wilson joins Pro Bowl defensive ends Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones.

Wilson appeared and started in 10 games before as season-ending injury against Kansas cut his season short.

He had 14 combined sacks in 2021 and 2022.

Now, Wilson will look for his first sack in the NFL, maybe against the former Texas Tech quarterback in Mahomes.
