Dream fades in loss to unbeaten Aces

The California Dream dropped the final two sets in a 20-18 World TeamTennis loss to the host  Austin Aces  on Sunday night.

The Aces (6-0) began their rally when former Stanford All-American Nicole Gibbs and Alla Kudryavtseva beat Jarka Gajdosova and Anabel Medina Garrigues 5-2 in women’s doubles. Teymuraz Gabashvili capped the comeback by defeating Tennys Sandgren 5-2 in men’s singles.

After losing the opening men’s doubles set, the Dream (3-4) won the next two. Gajdosova beat Gibbs 5-3 in women’s singles, and Medina Garrigues and Neal Skupski defeated Kudryavtseva and Gabashvili 5-2 in mixed doubles, giving California a 14-10 lead.
