Ready for NFL Draft? See who gets picked at these Sacramento-area sports bars

Football excitement returns briefly this week as fans nationwide tune in to see which NFL teams select the top college prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Fans are expected to gather at bars and restaurants across the region to catch the selections and celebrate the unofficial kickoff of football season.

Among the most anticipated picks are University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, and University of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Also expected to go early is Travis Hunter, the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner and two-way standout at wide receiver and cornerback for Colorado.

Two Sacramento-area players are also draft hopefuls. Sacramento State’s Jackson Slater, an All-American offensive lineman, and UC Davis All-American running back Lan Larison are among the local talent to watch.

The Las Vegas Raiders hold nine picks, including the sixth overall selection in the first round. The San Francisco 49ers have the 11th pick and 11 selections overall. The Tennessee Titans hold the first pick.

The 2025 NFL Draft will broadcast live on ESPN and ABC. Coverage begins with the first round at 5 p.m. Thursday. Rounds two and three start at 4 p.m. Friday. The final rounds, four through seven, begin at noon Saturday.
