Aaron Judge Sparks Rumors About Position Change, But Don't Fall For Them
New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge has fans wondering if a position change is in his future.
Judge has been the heart and soul of the Yankees since his breakout season in 2017. The seven-time All-Star already has 377 career homers and 846 RBI. All that's truly missing from his résumé is a World Series ring.
Though he's known for his power at the plate, Judge has been considered a respectable outfielder for the past few years. That being said Yankees manager Aaron Boone has joked about the three-time MVP potentially changing positions.
"Sometimes, I do tell him in the spring, 'Hey, go get your first baseman's glove. There's a few [reporters] out there. Give them something to talk about,'" Boone said in February, via MLB.com.
Interestingly enough, Judge was fielding grounders at third base before this Tuesday's game against the Boston Red Sox.
MLB fans had a lot to say about Judge at the hot corner.
No one is really expecting Judge to move to third base, but that move would open the door for minor league slugger Spencer Jones to join Boone's outfield.
"With his outfield glove on, this means nothing," one fan commented.
"Judge at 3rd would make way for Spencer Jones or Dominguez," a second fan wrote on social media. "But I doubt that'll happen."
"Maybe if their players racked up reps at their respective positions, they'd be able to field the ball," another fan said.
"Would be an insane way to get Spencer Jones up," a social media user added.
As of this moment, Judge is locked in at right field for the Yankees. Even if he ends up switching positions, it's far more likely he'd be their first baseman.
Do you think the Yankees should change Judge's position mid-season?
