'Legal Action' Threatened Against NFL Teams Who Make Fun Of Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini
NFL teams are set to release their complete 2026 regular season schedules on Thursday evening.
Every NFL team goes pretty hard with their schedule releases. NFL teams will get celebrities involved, coming up with film-worthy productions, that often go viral on X, Instagram, YouTube and more.
The NFL will reportedly not prevent teams from making fun of the Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini scandal on Thursday night. Front Office Sports reports that NFL teams will not be looking over the social media videos posted by individual teams for the 2026 schedule releases. This means that, if teams choose to, they could poke fun at Vrabel and Russini.
NFL teams will often take shots at their rivals during the schedule release videos.
But in advance of Thursday night, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy - a die-hard Patriots fan - is threatening any NFL teams who take shots at Vrabel and Russini on Thursday evening.
Portnoy threatens legal action against NFL teams
Yahoo! Sports shared the update.
"The NFL will not be reviewing team's videos for jokes surrounding New England Patriots HC Mike Vrabel ahead of Thursday night's annual schedule release, per Front Office Sports. The league is letting teams use their own judgment regarding potential content about Vrabel's connection with Dianna Russini," they wrote.
Portnoy responded: "Let me say this loud and clear. I will be monitoring all schedule releases and anybody who makes a joke about this disgusting controversy will be put on my list and face potential legal action. You've been warned."
You've been warned, NFL teams.
Of course, it's unclear what Portnoy could even do in this situation. Anyone can file a lawsuit - it's the United States of America, after all - but it's unlikely to go anywhere if something is filed.
Thursday night will be interesting, though.
