Jason Kelce Is 'Worried' About Changes To NFL Schedule
For decades, the NFL has owned Sundays in the fall.
No sport has been more closely associated with one day of the week than the NFL and Sundays. The league dominates every Sunday from early September through early February. Tens of millions of people tune in to watch every NFL game on Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening.
But the NFL has been pushing to own more and more days of the week. There's Monday Night Football. There's Thursday Night Football. There's now Wednesday Night Before Thanksgiving Day Football. There's Black Friday Football. There's Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Football.
Is it all too much?
Jason Kelce believes that it could be.
The former Philadelphia Eagles star is "worried" that too many changes are being made to the NFL schedule. Kelce, who co-hosts the "New Heights" podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce, believes that the NFL is risking losing its core fan base by continuing to push for more and more eyeballs outside of Sundays.
Kelce explains his NFL schedule worry
Kelce did not hold back, making it clear that he believes the NFL could be making a mistake with its schedule.
"Sunday is the NFL, and everybody sets their week around tuning in to the games happening on Sunday. I worry that we're getting away from that just a little bit by building too much of this," he said on his show.
Kelce makes a great point.
At a certain point, the NFL is risking things, by pursuing more and more days of the week for games.
Eventually, NFL fans will start to push back - if they haven't already.
