Remember When Corey Dillon Had 305 Yards in One Quarter?

For any running back, finishing a game with more than 300 yards of total offense would be a legendary career accomplishment.

For Corey Dillon, all it took was a quarter.

Playing his college ball for the Washington Huskies, Dillon delivered this ridiculous performance in 1996 against San Jose State, putting together perhaps the best 15 minutes we've ever seen from a collegiate running back.

Dillon racked up 222 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground, adding an 83-yard touchdown catch, all in the first quarter.

It might be hard to believe, but here's the video evidence:

That wasn't the last time Dillon would deliver historic numbers, either. Four years later while playing for the Cincinnati Bengals, Dillon would break Walter Payton's NFL record for rushing yards in a single game, racking up 278 yards against the Denver Broncos.

A second-round pick in the 1997 NFL Draft by the Bengals, Dillon spent his first seven NFL seasons in Cincinnati before winning a Super Bowl during his three years with the New England Patriots. Dillon made four Pro Bowls during his career, is a member of the Bengals' Ring of Honor, as well as the Patriots' All-Dynasty team.

That 1996 season was prolific for Dillon, who spent the rest of his college football career at the junior college level before landing at Washington for that one year. He led the nation in rushing touchdowns with 24. That marks still stands as the single-season record in Washington Huskies program history.

All it took was that one year at the top level of college football for Dillon to turn himself into a top-50 NFL Draft pick, and he proved it wasn't a fluke with a successful pro career.
