The USL announced late Tuesday afternoon that Wednesday night’s critical Western Conference match between Republic FC and Orange County Blues FC in Irvine has been postponed because of poor field conditions caused by recent storms in Southern California.
The match will be played 7:30 p.m., next Tuesday at Anteater Stadium on the campus of UC Irvine.
Orange County is currently tied with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC for first first place in the Western Conference with 46 points. Republic FC and the OKC Energy FC are tied for third place with 44 points. However, all but Republic FC have just one match left.
Republic FC can still finish first in the Western Conference with a win Saturday at home against Arizona United SC, then a win on Tuesday against the Blues.
