High five: It’s the NFL on ... Comedy Central

Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate looks on during an NFL football game against the Seattle Seahawks, Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, in Seattle. The game may forever be known in Seahawks lore as “The Bat,” a much disputed (and studied) end zone play that worked against the Lions.

Prime-time nationally televised NFL games this season that would have been at home on Comedy Central:

▪ Monday, Oct. 5: Lions vs. Seahawks – Teams are a combined 1-5 coming in.

▪ Thursday, Oct. 8: Colts vs. Texans – Nothing like an AFC South showdown.

▪ Thursday, Oct. 22: Seahawks vs. 49ers – Probably seemed like a good idea at one time.

▪ Thursday, Oct. 29: Dolphins vs. Patriots – Bad enough it was on CBS, it was simulcast on NFL Network.

▪ Monday, Nov. 9: Bears vs. Chargers – Really?
